How The Power Of Positive Thinking Can Change Your Life

difficult time

A very good friend of mine has been going through a very difficult time, professionally and personally, and while she did a fair amount of crying on the shoulders of her loved ones she found it counterproductive because they were too sympathetic. That sympathy would often only emphasize her sense that she’d been wronged and was a victim. Yes there are times when someone victimizes us criminally and in other ways and it takes time to deal with that mentally, financially and in other ways.

Listening Selectively

Although it is good to be a listening ear when a friend or family member needs you; you have to remember to take care of yourself by keeping your life positive. This usually requires listing selectively to family and friends. Positive does not mean rosey colored but keeping your focus positive and moving toward success helps you move forward and reach your dreams. If you accentuate the positives in your life and concentrate on making more positive changes, then there will be no stopping you on your road to success.

Control Your Thoughts

Your every thought determines the direction of your life. If you are moving backward then take time to analyze your thoughts. Our every thought either takes us toward our goals and desires or away from those goals and desires. Therefore, every thought has a positive or negative effect on the direction of our lives. Your mind is like clay and it can be molded into any shape or form. Your life can be shaped and your destiny set by your thoughts.

Change Every Situation

Taking the time to notice others and look for the “good” in every situation will not only lift your spirits, but will brighten the day for everyone around you – it’s a win-win situation. There are a 1001 ways to look for the good in others, starting with family, friends or those you may only meet once. Start taking action towards what you want and get rid of those negative thoughts.

Begin today by changing your thought patterns one step at a time. Set yourself a goal for the week or month and devote full attention to controlling your thoughts. The potential for change is the same for everyone. It only takes acceptance of the idea that change is possible coupled with the determination to follow through. It’s not always easy to control our thoughts, but certainly not impossible, and the rewards can last a lifetime.
